Shelly Headquarters & European Operations

In 1990, Shelly, Inc. was founded, in Angers, France, by Philippe Machuel, Christian Javelly and Jean-Marc Charles, to bring organization and ease to company operations. Today, through years of steady growth, hard work, great customers and a unique combination of innovative software and hands-on service, the software company has grown to be a strong player in its market. Shelly has worked with more than 100 companies in a variety of industries to simplify and manage all processes of production.

Jean-Marc oversees search and development in both Europe and
the United States, with Philippe in chare of United States operations. Shelly products and services are now available for American companies and their facilities.

Some highlights of the company's timeline include:
The first Windows version of Shelly was released, Shelly V5.0 (all prior versions were DOS). Shelly entered into a formal non-exclusive agreement with JD Edwards to coordinate Shelly’s software with JD Edwards’ French operations.

Shelly V7.0 was released as the first Advanced Planning and Scheduling module in the company’s standard software. This version also brought event-driven capability management to Shelly software, which made the product adaptable to a wide range of technologies, including RFID.
The JD Edwards contract was extended to all French-speaking European countries.
Shelly V7.5 and Shelly V8.0 were released, and the company takes on additional high-profile clients (see Client page).
Shelly’s business relationship with JD Edwards was extended to Canada, and Shelly signed an agreement to work with Price Waterhouse Coopers Consulting in Canada.
Shelly V8.5 and Shelly V8.75 were released, featuring a new Database Link Management module that enabled Shelly’s connectivity and interoperability with all ERPs and similar databases.
When JD Edwards and PWC each entered company mergers, Shelly opted to exit its agreements with the two firms. By this time, Shelly was strong enough to continue operations in Europe independent of such partnerships.

All customer versions of Shelly are automatically updated annually to keep the entire customer base at the same version level, currently Shelly V9.0.
With its goal to continually advance and strengthen its products, Shelly entered the 21st century by expanding its presence into the United States. Corporate headquarters were established in Charlotte, North Carolina.
